Welcome
to Rosny College Library
Our
goal is to teach students the essential skills for information literacy so
that they may access, critically evaluate and use ideas and information.
It is our mission to provide access to relevant up-to-date resources for
our college community and to foster a positive attitude to learning and
libraries. We value life-long learning skills and encourage literacy
through reading.
Rosny
College's well-established library provides access to relevant up-to-date
resources for our College community supported by helpful and professional
staff. The library provides a quiet and friendly working atmosphere for
students to study individually and with their classes.

Our
opening hours
Monday - Friday 8.00 a.m. - 4.15 p.m.
Borrowing
The Library ID card allows students to borrow up to ten items at a time.
The loan period is two weeks. A one day loan period exists for items
in high demand.
Resources

The
library has an extensive book and non-book collection of over 32,000
items.

The
library houses 68 networked computers for student use. All machines
include DVD players and provide access to our extensive on-line
resources, our college intranet and the internet.

We
subscribe to 78 print journals as well as the national and local newspapers.

On-line databases are available to Rosny students and staff. We
subscribe to the Aust/New Zealand Reference Centre, eLibrary and
ClickView.

Our library catalogue is part of the Tasmania-wide
T@LIS
network. The
catalogue lists all our resources and provides access to other Tasmanian
library collections.
Facilities

The audio-visual room is located adjacent to the library and houses
an excellent collection of video-recordings, audio-visual and
photography equipment, mobile television/video units and laptops.
The video database, ClickView, is managed from the audio-visual
room.

The
Conference/Meeting Room is available for staff use.

The
Learning Technology Room houses 20 networked computers for
class use.

Production
facilities include a photocopier, scanners, A4 and A3 laminator and laser printers
including a colour printer. These are
available for staff and students.
